Opening Activity-9/11 note: I was absent when we had this assignment!

This article was about a man who previously attended Jefferson High in Bloomington and his 9/11 story. Thomas Burnett was one of the passengers on the 93 flight that sacrificed their lives to save victims of the potential target. And this week and last the students at Bloomington schools are honoring him with fundraisers and stories. He was a star football player, a loving husband, and a zealous individual before he lost his life in the crash. I thought this story was very touching because of its location and story. I always heard about he flight 93 heroes but never thought that individually they had fascinating stories to tell. It was tragic the way he lost his life, but brave. I like the words he said to his wife via phone just before he died "We're going to do something." He really was an inspiring person.
