Opening Activity: Sengstack's Video Shooting Tips
1. List and describe two things you already knew.
Get an establishing shot: This means you get a shot that sets up your story and gives viewers an idea of what it's about.
Find unusual angles: This means that you find angles that aren't just right in front of the subject. Mix it up by using higher angles or go inbetween things to find a more interesting angle.
2. List and describe two things you learned for the first time.
Avoid fast pans and quick zooms: This means you avoid amateur video techniques that distract from the video. It will make it look better if you make steady movements when filming.
Get plenty of natural sound: This means you not only look for good visual B roll but good sounding B roll too. By using natural sound you can enhance the quality of video you provide viewers.

Opening Activity: Steve Jobs
The death of Steve Jobs was very upsetting to me because he died after a long battle with cancer. Steve Jobs was a revolutionary force in technology and owned the world's largest and highest grossing company, Apple. As an owner of more than one of his creations I feel the loss the world is experiencing and appreciate what he brought to us; a new era of music, phones, and computers. He really did invent some of the best inventions of the 21st centrury.
